We could charcterize these philosophers as great thinkers, but great thinkers (those whose thoughts have influenced culture and societies) do not necessariy make great human beings (look at the life of Nietsche as an example). On the other hand, many great human beings are not necessarily great thinkers, but are faithful, wise and demonstrate a virtuous character.
