Thanks for posting beautiful, can anyone tell me if its the French Government that pays for the upkeep of the official war graves?. I recently visited my uncles grave in Peronne France and the graves and the grounds are immaculate.

Hello,
It is not the French Government that pays. In fact, the soil where the graves are, are no longer Belgian territory. The ground was given to the Commonwealth and the Commonwealth also bears the costs of maintenance. Every day, there are teams of people doing the maintenance to the graves and the nature surrounding them. You will never find a graveyard abandoned or not taken care of.
