  • As a teacher, I'm done. This is my last year. Only the teachers know what goes on there. Don't say you know what goes on because you watched a documentary. The SYSTEM is messed up and the teachers are just trying to tread water because they have such a big heart and don't want to feel like they are giving up on the kids. What I have realized is that it's a system beyond my control and it's not worth my time and energy anymore. I am scared for the future of America.

  • @anurre5 I understand your feelings. I taught for four years and now I'm a teacher mentor, but miss the classroom everyday. How long have you been teaching? What grade levels do you teach?

  • @anurre5 because trolling serves a purpose. usually "trolls" mean to elicit strong, emotional responses... i am DEFINITELY looking to do that here. "pick up a prostitute" are you suggesting that i break the law? do you do this to the children that you teach as well? notice, i do not live in nevada. i REALLY hope you aren't suggesting that your students also break something that is within the US penal code (state/local/federal statutes and/or ordinances).

  • Higher intelligence = bad order followers, try to argue that from me? If you want good soldiers and workers in a society you need individuals that cannot do critical thinking. Noam Chomsky public ed. is propaganda system directed by elite carried out by administrators. Education will never improve you can count on that.

  • @alanomofo what happened there? My middle-school wasn't that bad my school was located in a suburb in Canada...how bad was it compared to your school?

  • i think its easy to blame the system, most parents dont seem to realize that their childs education begins with them. maybe if more parents unplugged the tv and handed their children a book instead? and people stopped waiting for the government to make everything right. just a thought

  • the system is fucked up. bad administrators, bad fellow teachers, bad students. a politically correct atmosphere. it's all jacked. impossible to fire bad teachers. go look at all the teachers that were dismissed from the classroom, but couldn't be fired, so they show up to an empty room, surf the web and do hobbies while receiving a pay check. what the hell is that? bad college teachers who have tenure. but hey, not like this affects rich people.

  • Look, my mom was a teacher for 40 years, single mom. We weren't rich by any means, but we were solidly middle class. This idea that teachers make 'unliveable' wages is absurd.

  • It doesn't take long for a law to change in CO. Seems like they change every other week if you're in the MMJ industry. It took about 6 months for hb1284 to get written and passed into law. Just depends on who benefits from the law I guess...
