This was a trail in northern Ontario that leads to an old sawmill. Most of it is rocky until you get to two sawdust/mud pits. They didn't look wet and ignoring my buddy's suggestion to check before crossing, I went the through the first one really slow, almost on idle. The second one I went in at about 3000rpm and it just sank!

After having went through the steps of getting unstuck and looking at the pit afterward, I really think that more speed wouldn't have made too much of a difference... but who knows?

Take a look at the other parts to get the full story.

  • haha you have a cable puller and a chain with hook like I do!

  • wow, if your doin this kind of thing, often, something other than a honda might be good. also it doesnt look like your very stuck, try wiggling the wheel. sometimes you can get traction by turning the wheels sideways in the rut, climbing the side of it instead of sitting down in it.

  • With All Terrain tires from BFG you will normally cross that. More speed next time maybe.
