yea buddy your so off on that one its not even funny. If it was a 50 meter pool and by 500 free you mean 400 free then a 4:11 is a possibility, not very fast though...

hes one of my favorite swimmers, but theres NO way that was the 500 free... the fastest time ever in the 500 free for YARDS is a 4:09 by peter vanderkaay, who is a DISTANCE swimmer...
i wouldnt be suprised if that was the 400m free in long course though ;)

He lived near me and he never really got super good until the summer bfore his senior year, he lost like 10 seconds on everything, he is so amazing, I was a meter pool for a swim meet yesterday and he had one off the pool records:
4:11 for a 500 freestyle,
and remember kids, that's in a meter pool
