The reason this hypothesis (it is in no way a scientific theory) seems to have so many holes is because the exodus story is an extreme exaggeration at best, a complete fabrication at worst.

Simcha has now been proven to be a fraud. The scientists he used in The Jesus Tomb have all said on tape that Simcha twisted the meaning of their words to make his point, which was that Jesus is a fraud. The fact that he's now been exposed as a fraud and liar calls into question his Exodus Decoded program, which I loved. Christians aren't trying to destroy his religion. Doesn't it seem awfully arrogant that he's trying to disprove the religion of others? Stop lying, Simcha!

The colossal amount of FAIL in this video series is absolutely astounding. A simple google search will reveal the numerous errors of this program made. The Hyskas were rulers of southern Egypt but rewrote themselves as slaves? The gas emissions which CAN happen in lakes is somehow transposed to rivers? The gas from lakes kills almost everything but the river version kills first born males? The timeline jumps around from 1500-1700 BCE depending on which detail we're talking about? TOTAL FAIL
