  • do u still have tht iMac or did u recycle it already?

  • @jbehnke96

I gave my White iMac to my parents to rid a PC I built 4 them yrs ago, I maintain it & still runs great. I dont have this Aluminum iMac. Power Inverter to the backlit display was noisy, couldn't stand the glare. Went to the Mac Mini. But I actually miss redesign iMac cause of the iSight, better GPU, & faster at everything. I will get another iMac until the next redesign which isnt far, I will sell this This Mini or hand it to my parents and sell the white iMac. Time will tell

  • @pokeeto2 a simple yes or no would answer the question.

  • U must have a hatcam ;)

The Base Model iMac is not too Shabby now. Discrete Graphics across the Line. The ATI 4670 with 256mb is now standard. Very competitive now.

I'm starting to question my Min nowi. Nah, I'll keep the Mini until apple Brings in the Core i Series chip. Apple Will not use Intel's integrated graphics since it sucks. Core 2 Duo production is ending so it will happen. I sense Apple bringing the Ati's or the 330m.

So, I guess iMac is now an option 4 u.

  • @pokeeto2 Ugh! Now there's new iMacs too so the old ones will be cheaper and I have to factor those back in and I've been looking at the M11x again! So confusing!

Maybe, but u'll run low. 4Gb ram is a must whether a gamer or not. Comparing Apple on the 4GB upgrade and getting the ram for u to upgrade yourself, theres really not much savings. They charge $100. memoryup charges $49.96 for each 2GB module. You need 2 which is what apple uses in their upgrade. Totaling at $99.92. You're saving 8 cents doing it yourself. This makes Apple's $100 ram upgrade a bargain I guess.

  • @pokeeto2 I wouldn't describe myself as a power user. I use my current laptop to manage my iTunes, browse the internet, and the occasional game. I have a total of 4 games on my computer. Portal, COD: World at War, Left 4 Dead 2, and Counter-Strike: Source. I just want to be able to run a couple of games. Is the 2 GBs of RAM in the white MacBook is enough to do those games?

  • @YouHaveMetYourMaker

Well, what exactly r u gonna use it for?? I'm not a PC gamer. I bought GTA4 cause for $17, how can I pass it off, plus I already had Win XP pro and I knew this game would be very playable on my Mini's 320m. I still need to get an Xbox 360 remote as it's impossible for me on the keyboard ( Too many years using PS1 Ps2 remotes) . I just don't want to spend $300 on a Ps3 just yet. I'd rather get a MacBook before anything cause my 5 y/o iBook G4 is acting up.

  • @pokeeto2 Damn. I just thought I'd finally decided I'd go with the MacBook Pro and now I'm gonna have to start all over lol.
