Demonstration of the effectrode tube-vibe effect. I am playing a grosh strat with Dimarzio Area pickups through a Ceriatone 36 amplifier, ultimate attenuator, jdesign cab w/greenbacks, additional usage of the geek-screamer ts9 pedal.

  • The old goldbox fulltone dejavibe that ran off AC wall voltage actually was closer to the original univibes than the aquavibe, megavibe and mojovibe

They sounded nothing like the new DC-powered dejavibes though.. The new fulltone dejavibes are thin sounding, not very close to the originals.

The old gold box ones weighs about three times as much as my megavibe.. crazy

built-in AC transformer and IEC outlet.

That may have been what he's referring to sheetsofsound

  • wrong. the gold fulltone sounds nothing like a real univibe. Weight is meaningless. Whether the transformer is on the inside or outside means nothing.

  • @sheetsofsound The difference isn't just that the transformer is on the inside, it uses different component and is designed differently. It doesn't sound like the newer dejavibes (i have both..)

There's a thread on Huge Rack Inc's Forum named 'Alternative to KR Megavibe'

where Desperado of Vertex Effect Systems (who has repaired countless univibes) compare the various univibe clones, look it up.

The old goldbox dejavibe sounds closer to a real one to him aswell.

  • I still disagree. I've had 3 gold ones. None of them sounds like a real univibe. The KR and Aqua are the closest to a real one. I don't much care what any of the reviews say. Most of the reviews are crap and are paid for anyway.

  • 2:40...Is one heck of a vibe tone which really gave me chills down my spine....Too good to be true....

  • @slugpumper1 most good vibes are about 300+ .This one is for sure the best!

  • No comments on the Tube Vibe anyone? - sounds good to me - but hugely expensive and a big piece of board taken up.

  • @LedZeppZoSo haha i thought the same thing. Iron man of guitar

  • I am tossing between one of these and a KR Megavibe to use in front of a JC 120 with a G&L ASAT Special Semihollow Deluxe. Which one of these do you find best for general mellow rhythms and/or especially Gilmourish sounds. If you had to choose one which would it be.

  • You need to set the trimpot inside the gold deja and max it for it to sound like an original.

    I've had an original/KR/Aqua/gold deja/custom shop deja/deja2/ultra2 and mojo

The KR is my favorite because it has more low end, but it doesn't sound like the original.

The original univibe didn't have unity gain with the vol turned up, all of the clones have unity gain or more and less subtle

The forum post i talked about isn't a review and it favors pedals that are no longer being sold, read it...
