"Reputation" is one of those recordings that seemed to have got "lost in the shuffle" during a particularly great period of popular music. This very pretty song was released as the B-side of "Hurt So Bad", one of the best rock ballads ever recorded, and as a result the song never got a great deal of airplay. Still, this is vintage Little Anthony singing a song that never got its due in its day there in February of 1965.

I love this song. Maybe if some guys thought about what they say to make themselves look good, in their eyes they would see what they can do to someone else's life.

I adore this song as well. It's not always the case ~ but being the b-side of such a huge smash such as Hurt So Bad is actually what obscured this one. Sometimes d.j's would favor a b-side or push both sides simultaneouslike, but many people back then weren't smart/fortunate enough to realize they paid for a disc that has two sides so why not check out both. This song and Good For A Lifetime are two examples of major plays gone to waste.

I agree. I never understood why this song wasn't more popular. I wonder if the sounds of the British Invasion and Motown had something to do with it. Teddy Radazzo wrote some of the greatest sounding songs ever.
