We Are Bara

Barasheet, Bara, Elohim -- In the beginning God created...

This is one of the ways that we are called to bear the imago dei, the image of God. We are called to Create. This means creating something new. Something good. Something worth the small amount of time that we have on this earth. It means creating something worthy of both culture and God.

If we want to take seriously the call to make disciples of all nations, this means being willing to step outside of what we know. This means taking a chance in a foreign territory. The fact is, despite the lack of tangibility, the internet is a real place. It is a place where voices are heard though we may not hear them. This means that true faces are seen, though we may not see them.

The Bara Initiative is out to do something new. We're re-doing internet ministry in a way never done before. We're making something worthy of being heard by those who are seeking truth. We're not intending to play the role of another small voice. We're aiming to become a multitude of leading voices which work to condemn and critique trends which misrepresent what reality is and what it means to be rooted in God. Yet, at the same time, we're attempting to present culture with a solid representation of the way things are. We will not leave you dry.
