@bgmnzz One more correction, Sammy Hagar's bass player is Mona, not Irene. In those days, Vic usually played on one of his two Ibanez guitars through a Marshall amp when they performed live but I'm not sure what he used on this session. I do remember the Busboys version of "Heart and Soul" and I did wonder what they thought about Huey's success with the song. The song, written by Mike Chapman and Nicky Chin, was first released on Exile in 1981, a year before the Busboys.
@midiman51 Thanks for the correction! I've seen video of Victor with Sammy. I think Irene the bassist is very cool. From my ears listening to my original copy of 'Minimum Wage', I'd guess Vic did use the Tele and the MusicMan. Just guessing, though. Off the subject, what did the band think of Huey Lewis having success with
the song "Heart And Soul" when they recorded it first.? If anybody remembers. Thanks!
@bgmnzz...LOL!!! You mean Vic Johnson. Brian O'Neal was and still is the leader of the band playing keys. Vic is a friend of mine and he's currently in Sammy Hagar's band, The Waboritas. He's always used a variety of guitars and amps so he may not have used the Tele or the Music Man amp on the record. I saw the BusBoys many times and he'd switch between Tele, Strat, Ibanez Flying-V and Explorer, Charvelle & Jackson. He even endorsed Yamaha guitars once. Fox News would die over KKK..LOL!!!
Thanks for posting this. Can you imagine what current Fox News would make of "KKK"? LOL! plus I always wondered what Brian Johnson used on the Minimum Wage Rock'Roll album. Now I can see..... a Fender Telecaster Deluxe and a Music Man hybrid 100 watt amp. Thanks
Man, I love the internet! Woke up this morning and remembered this great album I bought 25 years ago, from a great band I haven't thought about in 20 years. 20 Seconds later, Boom, they're on YOUTUBE!
@midiman51 Again thanks for the correction! Just nice to talk BusBoys with another fan. Later!

These guys cornered the irony market before anyone else. In regards to the USM show, it was in '85.
