  • I probably respect biochemists more than anyone else in the world. Biochemistry is one of the most difficult and complex things ever. Personally as long as I know what works I'm happy, don't need to know why haha. Great video btw, I've been taking 5000uis of vitamin D for over a year and I haven't been sick since I started taking it.

  • very informative.. nice video...

  • Drink lots of milk. For strong bones. Good research.

  • Thanks for broadening my knowledge of vitamin D.

  • Why the hell do people buy vitamins when the mark up of then are 800% for what is in the bottle. Heaven forbid some one did a medical study and proved it helped, the mark up goes to 1600%. There is not a dollars worth of vitamins or minerals in a 500 count bottle

You don’t know what quality or purity of the vitamins &mineral you get. You don’t know where it was manufactured at. Even if it says usa, it may only been put into bottles in the usa.

  • You need to be in the sun for 15-20 minutes total to make adequate amount of Vitamin D. Of course, this recommendation ignores such facts as sun radiation, pollution, skin sensitivities, etc. Some people are more prone to skin cancer than others -- hence, staying in the sun may not be a good idea. Also, given the pollution in crowded cities and sun radiation, it may be more harmful to stay in the sun than beneficial.

Vitamin D is also added in milk and cereals are also fortified.

  • Unless you are naked for 20 minutes in the sun every day you will not get enough Vitamin D.I test my patients and only two of them have had sufficient levels.Assume you are defficient. In the winter months take at least 2000iu.It works for mood depression pain osteoporosis immune system and so much more.

  • if you have a good diet and are exposed to sun (sun on skin, not sun on clothes) regularly

    you don't need vitamin D
