@dt88888d Whether they speak english or not they should respect people in uniform, if I was to visit france,america poland or any other country and I saw someone in an army uniform with a gun Id move out their way from respect more than anything.

just fence off the parts where the soldiers march, most visitors are foreign and only speak limited english

When I was a kid I went on one of the tours by the Beefeaters and it was fantastic. Not sure what it's like now but I got to hold the gun they use (unloaded of course) and got to wear on of those bearskins, it was really heavy, I have no idea how they wear it all the time. He was a guard too when he was younger and he told us stories of the annoying tourists. One man pulled a money and tried to steal his bearskin.

The guide is there for the soldiers march as a privilege, not the other way round... Hope this guy is the guide for platform 6 at Kings Cross now!

@Ocker3 And also extremely historically inaccurate... but still worth it and thats coming from a historian who has worked at the Tower.

@losghost DEFINITELY a Wisconsinite haha. Right on the nose when you spoke about Arlington too. Tourists from all over think guardsmen at military and governmental posts are part of a tourist attraction and that's sad.

Excuse me SHUT UP! oi yank...never heard of single file before jeezus!

hay you can stay where you are but that all depend on whether or not you want a rifle shoved up your arse :)

@NarudakiMadsenKoh Tower of London.
@Pooknottin I'm American and sad to say but you are right about the womans voice. In fact I would say her accent sounds like she's from wisconsin or one of the "square states". That said, I don't think she truly understood who she was talking to or his particular role. She most likely thought of him as some low end employee and not the 25-30 year military man he is. You can see this lack of understanding at Arlington as well and their guide should have informed them of this prior.

The tourists should have done their research ahead of time and found out that the tour done by the Beefeaters themselves is Much better, involves profanity, bloody historic details, and is generally downright hilarious.
