proves that way before iron man they were connecting characters from the comic books together into the universe of film. might not notice and actors change but its in there if you actually take a look. i know people are skeptical about the cameo but its jane's stunt double since they couldn't get jane to do it. it was meant to put a connecting thread into all the marvel films with little cameos here and there.

For the official answer, listen to the audio commentary. The man in the dark jacket is played by Michael Owen, Thomas Jane's stunt double from the 2004 'Punisher' movie. His appearance in the scene was intended as a nod to Frank Castle.
