I was 14 years old when John Lennon died, and it's 2013 now and I still can't COMPREHEND why someone would murder a true legend, so he could win fame for it, I cannot understand this world we live in . Love this song Thank you JOHN R.I.P.!

Imagine the music that this man would have made if he had lived . . . he would have been the great artist of the 1980's. taken from us right before his great comeback.

I'd give up my arm to hear what else he would have had in store for us if he had lived.

Im speaking in terms of music obviously and the deep passion i have for his work.

I think its needless to say that he was a human above all and no one deserved to go as early as he did or in the way that he was taken from us.

I think your right buddy. Carlin said it right too all these guys trying to tell us to love each other in harmony and what happens... we murder them. I've lost hope for humanity.

Hello 47 year old person. You know what, the U.S. government and the CIA killed John Lennon.

I don't believe that John was beyond his best days. Lennon is one of those rare talents who never really lost it. simply speaking in terms of a solo artist John is one of the greatest artists of all time.

Just give a listen to some of John's final songs, this being one of them. they were some of the best and well known songs of his career

also Saying John would have been one of the great artists of the 1980s in no disrespect to the other artists of that decade, its not demoting them in any way

As much as I admire John and his music, this is just way too far-fetched. Nobody can say for sure, of course, but John was most likely beyond his best days. There were many other great artists at that time, and you're not doing them justice by writing what you have written. I'm sure John would agree.

    J.D. Salinger was the culprit.

Are you inferring that Chapman was part of the establishment and his murder was all planned?

I actually prefer this song to Starting Over. I think it has more to tell about how John felt and why he withdrew from the front line of popular music, and perhaps why he was easing his way back, but not trying to Get Back to the old days. This was just him talking about him. Great stuff. So sad it was snuffed out before its time. Incidentally I dont know why some compare John and Paul. They represented two sides of a similar coin and were brilliant together, in their own styles.

Because he was a danger to the system. Don't you see the connection between the people who talk about peace and uniting everyone and their eventual murder? The system doesn't want us holding hands and achieving a higher level of consciousness, they want constant friction, tension, and perpetual war.
