He did it on the Palms course in Las Vegas hole #5 or 14. Some say there was no wind, Mike said he remembered about a 25 mph gust that hit at about the time he swung. The ball carried 465 to the front of the green, hit grass and bounced over the green. 515 yards total. Witnessed by the group of golfers who were on the green at the time and were asked to stand back so that Mike could make the try without holding up play during the PGA Senior Tournament in which this drive was made. Scientists worked out that with tail wind and swing speed of 155mph then 515 is possible. Mike's swing speed has been measured officially at 155 so there's also a chance it could be slightly faster on a good day. That drive was certainly a good day.
