Portland has been ranked #2 in the number of children who are trafficked and forced into prostitution. This is highly due to its proximity to I-5, its liberal state, and the fact that Portland has the most adult stores/ strip clubs per capita in the entire US. There is a HUGE problem in Portland. But there is also a proven solution - and YOU can be a part of it, by joining the SCTNow campaign to WALK. It's free, for all ages, and SO fun! If you live elsewhere, just click on the "Community Walks" tab and find a city near you, and Walk there.

If you can't walk, donate any amount. Volunteer at a station the day of the walk. OR simply TELL people about this issue so that it literally becomes viral and the US can be educated. It's happening not just to runaways or homeless. Most are girls,the avg. age of 12-14, and vulnerable. Vulnerable can cross ALL socio-economic boundaries.
