Good for you! Letting the knife do what it was born to do and giving it a history.

Its nice to finally watch a video by a man who is actually using his gear, rather than some fat middle age dude who has only kept his gear in a gun safe.

Outside of the collector side of it, what do you see as the functional benefit to owning/carrying a knife of this stature/cost vs a fairly low end/basic design?

@CliffStamp Define low end/Basic design. I know soldiers that brag about "saving money" by purchasing a $10 knife at the bazaar. They are young and don't know good steel from junk steel. As far as design, this knife is purely a fighter. The average Joe will get more use out of a fighting/utility design like the USMC Ka-Bar or the Air Force Survival Knife. I carried mine for tower duty as I shared that duty with Afghan soldiers whom I did not trust.

@Sixguns4fighting Something basic like the Boker Applegate-Fairbairn Combat Knife, which is not really low end but more on the low to mid range, price wise anyway.

@CliffStamp That is a fine weapon from a quality manufacturer. I recommend getting the book "Combat Use Of The Double-edged Fighting Knife" by Col. Rex Applegate to go with it. The author gives instructions of how to use that knife. Think of it as software to make the hardware functional.

Alot of the fat, middle aged guys can lose some weight and join the Army National Guard as I did. I recently turned 44yo. ;-)
