http://www.tweaktown.com GamesCom 2011 - Over at the ALTERNATE booth there were a bunch of partner products on display and one that quickly got our attention was a system demo by AMD.

They had a system setup running the upcoming codenamed Bulldozer eight core FX Black Edition processor on an ASUS Crosshair V Formula (AMD 990FX chipset). In the video below you get one of your first looks at a live working Bulldozer system running Dirt 3. You can see all eight cores in action too as the Windows Task Manager performance tab was open at the time.

AMD says that they are making games exceptional in their signage marketing at the booth, do you agree? Tell us below.

  • Everyone knows intel is asways gonna pwn but amd for the price of a intel core i5 u can get Like this Or phenom x6 1090t Maybe better idk but FUCK INTEL

  • The true potential of these CPU's will become apparent with Win8 which will take advantage of the double pipelining and FPU system that AMD has incorporated which Win7 does not recognize, so in tests it "sees" only 4 cores, and even then it doesn't take all the new infrastructure into account. By the time Win8 comes out of course new cpus will be out by both Intel and AMD, but this one will still hold it's own for a long time to come.

  • 1. Grab it

    2. Run fast as shit

    3. ???

    4. Profit!

  • @scyphe I don't know what you are talking about. Bulldozer is not Fusion yet. Trinity will be the first Fusion chip based on Bulldozer. But thanks for another example that you don't know anything about Bulldozer. And yes, iGPUs are crappy. But only if you know Intel. ;) Trinity's iGPU won't be far away from my HD 5750. The industry is quite sure, iGPUs are the future. Discrete graphics will disappear. But live on in your little niche world, where everyone needs high-end graphics for games.

  • @Kevin323gaw You do know bulldozer doesn't have 8 "full" cores right? Thats why it fails so much compared to the old Phenoms x6 or Intel i5s

CPU has no real impact on how fast you can open files. That's all down to how fast your HDD or SSD is.

  • @lolwut1337n355 Not in my computer playboy, everything is 2 times faster. All music/files opens almost instantaneously. All my games at ultra high deff 8 cores super fast and only for a cheap $200.00 and if id like i can OC to 4.5 but what for? Don't need too. Stocks runs like a beast. " Fail some more" That can only mean one thing your a mini playboy :)

  • @avynian I use a discrete graphic card (unlocked Radeon 6950). If I were only interested in checking e-mails and playing farmville I'd probably be happy with the crappy fusion/sb integrated GPU-core. But pulling that as an argument under a video demonstration in regards to performance and enthusiast level computing is just so sad and silly. You stick with your Fusion tech and play farmville, meanwhile I'll stick with my 2500k + unlocked 6950, SSD, fast 8GB DDR3.

  • @Kevin323gaw 2500k outperforms AMDs best bulldozer chip. 2500k is cheaper.

    Fail some more.

  • @lolwut1337n355 The money in my wallet vice versa.

  • @Kevin323gaw Benchmarks say otherwise.

  • @lolwut1337n355 Nah same shit HD on all games. Intel is like alienware you're just paying for the name.

  • @jandjsdaddy The 2500k outperforms AMDs best bulldozer and it's cheaper.

    Fail some more.
