HCl Acid & Foil Reaction

150ml of 10.2 Mol/L hydrochloric acid with 20g (0.7 moles) aluminium foil inside a taped up 2L 'Diet Coke' bottle. Through using stochiometry, this reaction produced 25.8L of Hydrogen gas inside a 2L bottle. Because the reaction is HIGHLY exothermic it causes the plastic bottle to become hot and stretchy, thus when the hydrogen gas is produced it is able to stretch the hot bottle from the gas pressure. Because of this effect it amplifies the explosion.

use a bigger bottle.. and fill it half way up and use alot more tinfoil and screw the cap on and run.. you dont want to be standing to close dumbass's its acid

my lab teacher dont let us manipulate that acid without glasses and gloves .__. that kind of acid is very dangerous... even in low concentrations...
