@TravelerNTime There is plenty of good contained undernearth the overlying impression of materialism. Objectivism is not concerned with material goods. Read the virtue of selfishness if you're pressed for time.

Not having read the book, what I see here is materialism...and saying it is not possible to be happy or fulfilled by giving to others...I personally live for the "real" life...not the "illusion" we call reality. When I die, a physical death, I will go fulfilled with the knowledge that I added to the lives of others, not selfishly adding to the material wealth of mine, which cannot be taken from this earth with me. But this is just me.

When you say "there is no this" what does that mean, exactly? What is "this" that doesn't exist and is "only what you make it"?
