  • I don't know too many contraltos who can sing that F#5 without straining.

  • Aafje's voice is so full and warm sounding that she did not need the hokey back-up, which only detracts from her exquisite singing.

  • @kkeeling2010 You have probably already discovered the answer to your question, but for what is is worth, she has a Philips album Of Bach, Handel, Brahms etc. Would also recommend the Brahms choral works and Overtures, with Wolfgang Sawallisch, (also Philips) where you will be able to enjoy her sublime version of the alto rhapsody.
