@TheShotokankarateguy he learn from thai and bjj how to defend against low kicks roundhouse punces and takedowns.shotokan doesnt teach you nothing against them.doesnt have drills.only aginst oi tsuki.and the bunkai the same defenses against oi tsuki.look the video.then he use some great karate moves.not shotokan moves.the same moves they use all the styles of karate.only with shotokan train he would be KO in all his fight man

@acerwk but machida started with shotokan karate as a child and still practice it amd use it in his fights, notice he evades attacks tahst all shotokan , and that BJJ stuff thats required in the ufc you need to grappling to be a caged fighter but for his striking art he uses shotokan not thai boxing

@TheShotokankarateguy please take a close look to this video and all other shotokan videos on youtube.they show bunkai against oi-tsuki,gyaku tsuki.well nobody will attack like that.what about low kicsk with the shin?takedowns?roundhouse punches?only against oi tsuki!yeah right..!!
