Lyrics:
Got me some anxious hope while heading South
Fore A new chapter in a foreign land
Just An idealistic gringo kid
Will work for peace and lend a hand
A bittersweet and fond farewell
A brother and bestie in my corner
Charch and Charles, a true Rocky Mountain high
See you soon this ain't goodbye
Life is calling what's your play?
A leap of faith to seize the day
The Savior rests on a pacific sea
War torn and weary as she welcomes me
And in her arms I can finally make it real
Old Salvador my heart it's yours
El Salvador Let's get to work
A common goal to make us proud
Voice and equality for all
And through friendship our community will grow
Every day we will try to find a way
Let's come together and wage peace
El Salvador Let's live up
Get your beaches ready for my feet
Let the tinto flow like a volcano
Come papusas, rice and beans
My hammocks hung the sunkissed chicas wait for me
Let's live the life of our dreams
Life is calling What's your play?
A leap of faith to seize the day
The Savior rests on a pacific sea
War torn and weary as she welcomes me
And in her arms I can finally make it real
El Salvador it's a brand new day
Old Salvador just lead the way
El Salvador my heart is yours
Life is calling and I can't wait

@Surffer26 Grammatically you are right, but colloquially it works, because countries are always referred to in the feminine, regardless of the apparent gender in the name.
As for tequila, I don't have much of an excuse, other than I like tequila! But I would imagine you could still find it over there still... I mean it is Latin America after all!

@RevelingInReverie Thanks Karen! Writing credits definitely go to my good friend Dan who is now living it up and making a difference in El Salvador as part of the Peace Corps. I was just glad to lend a guitar and a voice to such a cause!
