  • Interesting.

Have you used a blend such as this in your diesel engine and if so did it work OK?

  • @Joewalshe38 This was just an experiment to see if Turpentine would blending with vegetable oil to make solution. That sample was later blended into my next tank of blended fuel. I found no problems with blending the sample in, and Turpentine blends well with vegetable oil, so I plan to find a reasonably priced source for Turpentine to try a larger scale experiment, which would include running it for an extended period of time on a diesel engine.

  • What does the experiment show what are expected results. If were using VO to run our Diesel engines, by mixing Turpentine are you looking to make the VO more suitable to run in vehicles? Just as some mix 20% diesel fuel to 80 % VO making it not gel or thicken up in cold weather? If so what do you think the proper mix would be for Turpentine and does it make a better fuel then adding reg Diesel fuel?

  • @2xtream the point of every one of these blending videos is simply to show that a group of solvents can be used to thin vegetable oil down to the viscosity of diesel fuel, which will improve its burn characteristics, and lower its gel-point. I do not yet have a recommended blend amount for turpentine. But, research has shown that if diesel is your blending agent with vegetable oil then it should be no less than 50%; whereas if gasoline is your blending solvent, then 20% is all that is needed

  • @Jhananda Thanks for the info. I must have missed that video describing the ratios... Have you found any trouble burning a Gas/WVO mix with rubber fuel lines?

If Gas/WVO mix is used is there anything else added to run that fuel? Like a little acetone say 2 oz pr gal? What is the best mix you have come up with today?

    Thanks for the info...
