@jazzx251 I don't think it's surprising that the best UK actors are all successful theatre performers. Stage acting is what you've got to prove you're good at first before making it onto TV or movies, usually.

John Simm is a terrific actor - it seems the best UK actors are all successful theatre performers.
I think he was superb in Life On Mars - the chemistry with the other thesp Philip Glennister made it two series of concentrated brilliance on the TV set.
Watching "State of Play" at the moment (BBC series) - Simm is excellent in the lead role yet again.
