  • whats the Gear Ratio?? i'm going to be putting a 70 500ci in a 79 Malibu wagon here soon and i was woundering what gears i should run because i been reading alot from cadillacperformace and they said it doesnt need alot of gear, So do you think 3.73s is to much?

  • @Elcamino1980BBC The car has 3.08 gears in it in the videos. I have pu 3.42 gears in it and it didn't make much difference. I wouldn'trun 3.73s behind a 500 cadillac.

  • @superglidedyna

dont you think tire size will matter any..because later we will be Tubing it and putting 30.6 tall 13.5 wide slicks on it..

  • @Elcamino1980BBC yes, gears are based around a 28" tire. 3.73 would be ok for a drag oriented car. If no oversized valves or no headwork is done that would be the absolute max gear I would use. More gear is basicly helps with motors that lack the torque to get a car moving from a stop fast. these long stroke, smallish port motors are all torque.

  • sweet car is that a roller motor? i heard they started makeing performance parts for caddy now is that true?

  • It's just a hydraulic flat tappet. Yes many parts. 500cid and cadillacperformance dotcom
