@StephM1982 ive tied a couple small wooly buggers theres a dozen copper johns for sale for 10$ the water is medium fast and ive caught trout that spit out minnows, im prob going to buy the copper johns for this spring check out my video "trout stream" theres some good trout sign in this creek I found, could you mabey check it out??

@midwesternoutdoors I would think maybe a size 14-18. What is the water like where you're fishing for them? Is it slower moving or are you finding them in fast, broken water? If it's slow and pretty clear, I would recommend something more natural looking, maybe even throw a small streamer in there. Brookies are very Piscesivorous ( they eat a lot of fish) so small streamers should work well.

what fly is that it looks good, were you using an idicator???

@midwesternoutdoors This fly was bought in a fly shop. It's a bead-head copper john. Maybe size 16? And I never really used indicators. I do have some Thinga-ma-Bobbers. I like how easy those are to attach and what not, but I will usually stick to Czech style nymphing.
