Appraising Vehicles for Today's Consumers

How to use market data to appraise and price vehicles

The pre-owned departments in most of today's dealerships have not moved to the next level when appraising vehicles. Because the old method has worked for over 40 years, there has been little need to change.

This presentation will show dealers both why they need to look at appraising differently to satisfy today's consumer, and how to implement the tools necessary to successfully implement this change.

Generation X & Y buyers live in a world of data and access to it is immediate. Dealerships need to recognize this and then use that same access to the same data to validate their appraisal in a transparent process.

Research shows consumers rate most dealership appraisal processes as below average. Using market driven data dealerships can validate their appraisal as well as make better market driven appraisal decisions. This change of behavior is not always easy, but when a dealer sees it and how simple it is to use good data, the change usually occurs quickly.

This workshop will introduce dealers to some of the tools and also define what different guide values mean. There is some confusion at times by dealership personnel to interpreting values.
