Friday night JoA participated in San Fran's Critical Mass, Halloween style. Critical Mass is a mass bicycle ride that takes place on the last Friday of each month to celebrate cycling and to assert cyclists' right to the road. The idea started in San Francisco in September 1992 and quickly spread to cities all over the world.

@taurnguard I agree! I'm a biker, and i'm really ashamed when i'm waiting at a red light and many other bikers ride straight through illegaly, right beside me! That's not how you make others (mainly car drivers) respect you... But sadly that's the way it goes for many bikers.
Anyways I've participated in a CM a few years ago, but that was enough for me. I like the idea, but i prefer to ride alone or with close friends, and mostly on mountains.

If bicyclists want respect, they have to earn it. How?
1) STOP at the red lights like you're supposed to.
2) Ride your bikes WITH traffic not against it.
3) Do not make illegal turns.
4) Do not ride your bike on the sidewalk. It's the law, that's why not.
Do these things and you'll start getting respect.
