I have Autoimmune Thyroiditis and Fibromyalgia. I'm on thyroxine and my levels are normal as of my last blood test, so why do I still have the fibro symptoms?

In the Uk doctors are STUPID and ARROGANT. I had to find out my own my thyroid/fibromyalgia problems, after reading and studying it for many months. . I mean... ALL my family has thyroid disorders, I have ALL the symptoms (also fibromyalgia), my blood test results are borderline and they say that I don't have any problem with my thyroid. I wish they could live in the pain that I am living.

Thank you so much for this! I completely agree with what this Dr. is saying. I was diagnosed several months ago with Fibromyalgia (per Rheumatologist) and have been suffering with horrible fatigue and exhaustion, as well as muscle/joint pain, headaches, ibs-predominately constipation, etc. etc. Needless to say, it has been horrible and on going for the last few years. I finally had test results show hypothyroidism and saw my pcp today. He mentioned a lot of the same things as this doctor and...

I am a recovered fibromyalgic who left the care of the medical profession to discover the cause and cure of this horrific condition, and I completely understand it from the inside and back out again. Symptoms are so often mistaken as the cause. I am living proof you can cure this condition without drugs and take back your life. Please, do not give up from failed hope and keep going!!!

I have HashimotosThyroiditis and some other autoimmune conditions. I also have Fibromyalgia and many of it's related conditions. I'm trying to get off some of the prescriptions and eat better. I feel for and pray for anyone who has any of these diseases. It's hard to stay strong sometimes.

I also agree with you, Nairycar, that this doctor is not saying everyone who has Fibromyalgia has a Thyroid problem. It is a well-known fact that some people are just predisposed to having the condition, and it can take one of any number of circumstances such as injury, illness, shock, etc. to bring out this type of latent (waiting to come out) autoimmune disease.

I have a severe spine deformity and metal rods in my back, so I just assumed for the last 5 years that I had Fibromyalgia from the surgery (scar tissue can form fibroids...) But this year I was hospitalized for an unknown underactive thyroid, and have come to realize that I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. This explains it all!
Can you train the doctors in the UK please they are still in the dark about the whole Fibro/Thyroid connection

Thank you very much for throwing light on the FMS and thyroid. I could make the connection why i liked eating ocean fish. Found that availability of iodine from kelp is very low so tried Thyadine and it helped to some extent.
Thank you very much.
