The truly gifted Ink Spots with "Please Take A Letter Miss Brown" from 1941. I have many favorite songs and this is easily one of them.

  • Who else sang this song? I have a small part on cassette tape of someone else singing this with a Rudy Vallee style orchestra but I can't place the singer. The only other one I find is Harry James and it's definitely not him.

  • Has any performer ever had better diction than the tenor lead here, Bill Kenny? - John Austin, Australia

  • @FoxPlant2006 I was just thinking the same thing!

  • It's a lovely song and I had a few chuckles out of Miss Brown's remonstrations. Nice ending too. Thanks! ;- )

  • Why don't they write songs that tell stories any more?

  • I just love this song! thank you for posting it! I've tried to get it through Itunes & Rhapsody but I guess this song just isn't available.

    Thanks again! :)

  • Thank you for posting this song. Was one of my favorites that I used to listen to with my father. It brings back very happy memories.
