The Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) technology for radio broadcast at frequencies up to 174 MHz was publicly demonstrated in Paris on Thursday, July 16th 2009. The DRM+ signal was broadcast in band I on 64.5 MHz from Tour Pleyel, in the North of Paris. The stereo and 5.1 Surround sound audio will be accompanied by DRM Dynamic Labels, Journaline text information, and SlideShow graphics images, presented with live indoor reception to the audience. In addition participants will have the opportunity to experience the 5.1 Surround sound DRM+ broadcast in a moving car.
This is was the first time DRM+ had been demonstrated to an audience.
@AnthonyUK I see a use for this on FCC Part 15 compliant micro power FM in the US to give these stations similar technical standards as the signal cannot exceed 200 KHz of bandwidth which the approved HD Radio (IBOC-DAB) standard does.

Digital radio mondiale plus (DRM+) can also work via the vhf-fm broadcast band 87-108mhz to enable regular UK and European fm broadcasters to air their programmes in perfect CD quality stereo and mono sound and even have 4 stations at excellent quality or more at reasonable quality on the same frequency, according to the needs of the broadcasters. It is extremely flexible and can adjust accordingly to whatever the broadcaster wishes.
