working on my uppercut and left body shot. I have a decent right body shot but I hardly use my uppercuts and left body shot in the sparring.

I finally landed right uppercut in my last sparring after this training and this slightly gave me confidence. Kru Jasper thinks that my right uppercut is strong if I can time it. Uppercuts are not yet part of my muscle memory...I do a lot of jab cross right body hook these days and hopefully, others will come easily as I train more on my hands.

  • Your form looks great. I can really feel the power, what improvement (and your were good to begin with). February's comings soon and you're going to do great. So exciting! I mean you're a champion for just stepping in the ring but you're going to dominate with Kru Jasper's training and your heart, dedication and will.

btw You know you're going to have to record and post your fight right?

  • @gabepizza thanks...yeah...my first smoker is next week. Hopefully I do well.

  • If you have only been training since August then your doing great!.

Back to my point about the uppercut watch how your coach does his,he doesnt turn the front leg heel out the same as you do,thats good to do on the hook but not for the uppercut, keep your weight on the front leg for the uppercut the same as your coach does, anyway well done and enjoy your training:)

  • @namphon makes sense....thank you very much. Yes, it makes sense the way you put it. I think Kru Jasper doesn't even do that on his hook but I did and it was OK. but like you said, uppercut is different. I am glad that you and kru Jasper give me great advices. Much appreciated :).

  • To help with your punches have a look at the way you stand and compare it to your coaches,if you adjust your width a bit it will help with the left uppercut and hook.

Nice work though your enthusiasm for training and learning is great:)

  • @namphon thanks....I will keep practicing against the bag and focus mitts....I didn't have any power on my right when I first started in August so I think it will come if I keep doing it :D.

  • @CuppaWorkout You're going to do great! Good luck!

  • @CuppaWorkout ahh yeah he keeps his front leg planted, doesnt rotate it, just rotates hip

  • @shenglongx yeah...I did well on my left hook but no power on my left body hook. I need to practice against heavy bag for that. I also noticed I stood very wide on this video, maybe that's why. Kru Jasper said he didn't use his leg (or his term sit on it) for his left hook but he use his legs for his right. But then again, he's a southpaw so he actually has a strong left hand, different than mine.

  • nice u make the same sound i do now when i strike :P also that body shot low hook he was teaching u is really really powerful if you can get it right, i practice it on punchbag by doing left body hook, right body hook, left head hook, right head hook, you got to throw from the hip and make sure to keep guarded as much as possible when you throw them
