Jean's voice is still good. BUt listen to stuff when she was at her peak. WOW!!!

Interesting! Redpath looks and sounds wonderful in this clip. I saw her 20 yeas ago in Cambridge, and she seemed unwell. But here she is in full voice, looking great. Schwab, on piano, is masterful here, too. An unusual clip for Letterman, to be sure.

I just happened to have David Letterman on the night of this performance, which I usually don't listen to. I was on my computer, totally ignoring him, when this woman with a wonderful, full and rich voice began to sing!! I was so totally shocked by the quality of the music, that I ran as fast as I could to the room with the TV, and watched in stunned silence at the absolute beauty of the music, the voice, the lyrics, & the performance!! I immediately ordered the album, "By Request," & love it!!

Once in a great, great while, the Divine speaks to us and we don't even realize it. It happens in this 4:55 video.

I have really looked for this song. It has taken me so long to get it. I am so glad I can finally listen to it again after first seeing her perform on the Letterman show. This song is deep. I adore the lady.
