Ahead of President Obamas State of the Union address, Conservatives for Patients Rights will launch a new national health care ad calling on Congress to learn their lesson from Massachusetts and drop their government-run health care plan.
Its true that premiums in Mass. rose, but then again out of pocket expenses fell because insurers had to pick up more of the táb. People in Mass. are overwhelmingly supportive of their State's health care laws and nothing much in the Obama plan threatens that.
Er,,, a reality check please! Brown opposed the plan saying a one sized plan does not fit all and went on to say that in Massachusets they had already achieved a 98% coverage rate. Brown supported the Massachusetts plan which had an individual mandate, an exchange and subsidies for those in need,,, i.e. just what Obama supported.
Americans want reform that lowers their health care costs and improves quality while protecting their rights. As we've consistently promoted for the past year, these goals can be achieved without busting the federal budget or creating new government bureaucracies by following four simple pillars that focus on promoting choice, competition, accountability and personal responsibility."
if it is the president's intent to use the appearance of bipartisanship as a prop to try and ram through his health care plan, which the American public has already rejected, then voters will likely see right through it and continue to punish him and his party at the polls...
2/9/10: Statement from Conservatives for Patients' Rights Chairman Rick Scott on the President's Planned Health Care Summit: "If the President is sincerely committed to resetting the health care reform process by finding common, bipartisan ground on how to lower costs and improve care while protecting patients rights, then we applaud his efforts. However...
...And a mandate without enforcement is just a suggestion. [...] One of the most compelling arguments against Obamacare is that it is self-defeatingly unconstitutional. That is yet another reason why this menacing monster must be silenced."
2/16/10: In the National Review Online, Deroy Murdock explains why ObamaCare is unconstitutional. "A penalty collected via the IRS would be a direct tax on individuals, independent of anything reflected in the Census or tied to enumeration of citizens among the states. As such, the individual mandate's enforcement mechanism would fail Constitutional scrutiny...
Totally dishonest AD; MA already has a state governed health plan that works great; most voters are satisfied. In fact, people voted against Dems because the Federal HP would siphon money from MA to benefit conservative red states. This the type of cynicism that keeps an elitist party like the GOP in Congress.
This is what happens when 98% of the people in that state have insurance! Who the hell makes these things up and donates to these companies without doing some research? FALSE ADVERTISING! Who made this Glenn Beck and Fox News?? People need facts not scare tactics. Thank GOD this lie has so few views!
