  • As a contemporary composer for the pipes and bands, I consider this composer to be fucking brilliant. I understand why this stuff scares, maybe even offends some of you, but this performance improved my life, and has given me excellent ideas, albeit more traditional, for my band this year (GREIGHLAN CROSSING, BC CANADA)

  • Yes, thanks TARTANSPAM. I do know what ensemble is. I also know what it feels like to hold the worlds trophy aloft, but thanks for your valuable and constructive input.

  • @viperpiper1991 Get over it, its a medley. If you hate it so much, don't comment and don't listen to it.. its that easy bud.

  • I love watching this video for some reason.

Toronto is making a difference and i love to see that, look at all the different medley's coming out now in 2011.

Alex Duthart changed drumming forever and probably had tons of people saying it shouldn't be changed, so why cant Toronto change medley's?

I really respect all the players in the band then, and now for sticking to their guns when people put them down. Keep working hard !

  • @AngryBagpiper what tunes are they playing?

  • A medley is a handfull of tunes being played one after another. This is just one tune I believe. So it doesn't not count as a medley. Im not saying the tune is bad though.

  • Well, what can I say. Really pushing the boundaries. I remember the fuss when medleys moved away from "traditional" changeovers from different timings using what could be called "untraditional" links. But now it's the norm to have these varied changes and links. I like to think of myself as open to change and I have to say that the "dinosaurs" 'aint gonna like it. I'd like to have a peek at the judges sheets to see what they made of it. What you are up against is a lot of them won't understand.

  • just a heads up variations hasn't been played in comp since 2006.....and you still comment? please listen to newer medleys, such as Peal's newest creation. Ontario bands in general are pushing for a new age of pipe bands just as tyler fry revolutionized tenor drumming and the view of a midsection, or like Alex Duthart in his time, if you think that players such as tyler fry (lead tenor of Shotts) and Alex Duthart (Lead drummer for Shotts a while back) are bad then idk what your thinking

  • @kungfupanda502 True statement

  • it would be a pain in the ass to memorize this medley

  • @Viperpiper123 put ANY other band against FMM or SFU and see how the results will turn out

  • hmm never heard them play in the worlds...lets put them against bands such as Field Marshall or SFU wonder how the results would turn out
