jwjrangers is right. It was because you had no shields. My friend and I were playing a game of nothing but swords (no shields) and he was hit by a fusion coil but didn't die. He beat me down, then hit my body with his energy sword and was killed by the guardians.

It said it was the guardians the reason was that for that distance especially that it would take about 8 shots with a shotgun to kill someone but it only took one for you also you couldn't have 10% normal health and shield because you got hit by the warthog so you'd die and when you hit the hog you actually it the passenger

it's simple, you have no shield, and game was probally on 10% normal health, and that happens when you melle a wall, or in this case a hog, you die.
