The International Rescue Committee has been working in Pakistan since 1980. Within hours of the devastating earthquake on Oct. 8, 2005, IRC teams were on their way to the hardest hit areas to distribute emergency supplies and assist the survivors, with special emphasis on the needs of women and children. This video from the IRC archive looks back at how IRC aid workers helped to fortify survivors against cold winter temperatures, rebuild their homes and begin the long recovery process.
