ADVANCED BRAIN SURGERY IN CHINA

Four weeks ago, a team of leading Chinese brain surgeons was assembled at Beijing Tiantan Puhua Hospital to perform the delicate operation of removing a tumor of the skull base on a patient from Egypt. The patient, a 45 year old female was unable to get the treatment in the Middle East.

Although Tiantan Puhua Hospital has treated more than 1000 foreign patients since it opened, this is the first time a team of neurosurgeons from hospitals in Beijing has been assembled to perform an especially difficult type of brain surgery on a person who has travelled to China solely for this purpose.

Very Good indeed!. It calls my attention the use of an "artificial membrane" to reonstruct the base, Did you, Dr. Yang, use this membrane to reconstruct dura? Can you tell us the name of this "artificial membrane"?, I am asking because it is very difficult to get dural substitutes in my country at low prices (I am a Neurosurgeon in México). Dr David
