@sardino1 ...and there was me sat with finger permanantly glued to pause button of my ghetto blaster, hoping to catch the good uns. This was certainly one of them. The moment I heard Peel's signature tune, I went into a weird trance - couldn't distract me!!
Now, over 30 years later I'm about to do a marathon transfer from cassette to PC, so stay tuned in this area. :-))

Real fear, less real actual threat - the 1 in 4 women raped stat false. More like 1 in 20-25. Also, chances of being raped on street, or meeting assailant on street (i.e. stranger rape) only 6% of rapes, so approximately 1 in 4-500 women stranger raped. Reclaim the streets/take back the night fems refuse to acknowledge rape hysteria they have generated. Men in much greater danger on streets. It wasn't just Ari writing lyrics though, which might explain her post-modern tone on lyrics she sang.

@tom181071 I kind of agree with you, but in many ways that lyric could have been seen as being an early rallying cry for reclaim the streets, at a time when being raped was and still is a massive and very real fear for women.

Totally agree. JP sessions superb. I heard this when they it was first broadcast on my little tranny 10pm Mon-Thurs. Live - they blew my 15 year old surburban head off.
