13 May 1969 was almost the breaking point of Malaysia after 12 years of her independence. Racial riots sparked in Kuala Lumpur and national unity was at stake. Come join us as we bring you through the darkest day in Malaysia, with a night of extravagant visual display.

** THE PLAY **
The play is set in the 1960's when Malaysia has just gained her independence and was neither politically or racially stable. The climax is the darkest day in Malaysian history, 13 May 1969. It follows the life of Awang, an innocent boy, who finds himself in the middle of an identity crisis which threatens to tear his family and village apart because of his race. Join him, in his push for unity and to abolish racism among his own people.

** THE NIGHT **
Also featuring on the night is an array of traditional performances. From the Sabahan warrior dance to the energetic Indian dance, we aim to share a glimpse of what our beautiful country Malaysia has to offer. This is then followed by our famous Dikir Barat team, definitely one of the best student Dikir Barat performances in the UK.

** ROCK IT OUT ** http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=101264086596913
MSA presents, the grand debut of a revolutionary M'Night afterparty, Rock it Out! Right after our Malaysia Night, we will be heading to the Copper Rooms for a musical extravaganza featuring two outstanding Malaysian acts, Altimet and Monoloque featuring DJ Fuzz, DJ Ribut and DJ Evo from Malaysia, local British acts, and our WarwickMSA Band.

Be there. See you on February 18th!

  • Don't know why my eyes brim with tears everytime I watch this trailer despite the OTT epic music. Maybe it's because I know the history of 69? Hope the play will touch the hearts of the audience. All the best to the cast!
