98% is a stupid number and isn't true at all. The Gracies actually used a more conservative 90%, but even that is false. Jiu-Jitsu is my first love, but even I won't fall for that propaganda. Here's something for you though; 100 percent of fights, Octagon, cage, or street start standing.

He got knocked out before the fight even started is what. And MMA fans can shit on Sylvia all they want, but that guy was damn good for what he was and just because he had a boring style and, unfortunately, personality didn't mean his accomplishments in the octagon amounted to nothing; 2x HW UFC Champion, that puts him in company with Couture, and Velasquez. And yes, I agree, even the best boxers won't survive in the octagon without first cross-training.

Oh you mean the super skilled fighter that Brock Lesnar, who hadn't competed at a professional level in over a decade and a fighter who never truly developed any striking skills, absolutely demolished? You're so laughably blinded by the flaws in your sport that you have to resort to using James Toney as a legitimate example of a boxer transitioning into MMA.

James Toney didn't become champion is an absolutely atrocious division in boxing. Sylvia did. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that Sylvia was absolute shit. You can't say the same for James Toney. He was a great boxer and great advocate for the sport. And we all saw what happened when he fought a REAL skilled MMA fighter, who was a top contender in a division that wasn't complete shit at the time.

Hello there, have you tried "Musclegend" (look on Google)? There you can watch a good free video demonstrating the best way to build up notable lean muscle quickly whilst shedding fat all at once. Kyle is one of the numerous guys which had positive results by using this approach. It may work for you too.

So your body jumped someone who was still sitting having a drink and the other guy is a drunken asshole.

I'll tell you this much, I've been practicing Tae Kwon Do for 13 years, I got in at least a dozen of street fights, and none of them went to the floor.

So, even with all the excuses aside, was Sylvia NOT only two years removed from being the HW champion in the world's premier MMA organization? The same way you say Sylvia can't compete with today's fighters is can also be applied to fan favorites like BJ Penn, and Matt Hughes. So Sylvia's a ludicrous (proper spelling, btw) example, yet James Toney 15 years, and 50lbs removed from his physical peak are not?

Sylvia was HW champion when the division was absolute dog shit. They had what? Mir, Nogueira and maybe 2 more legit HW's? If Sylvia in his prime fought in the HW division now, with the likes of Dos Santos, Velasquez, Overeem, Nelson, ect, he would get fucking destroyed. Nogueira beat Sylvia and Velasquez fucking destroyed big nog. So using Sylvia as an advocate for MMA is ludacris. And the arguement works both ways. An old Couture destroyed James Toney, in the first round. So yes, MMA trumps all
