I submit that our government does not promote democracy. That is a national delusion that our government likes to perpetuate. Likewise, the war on terror won't work. We need to start with a humanitarian foreign policy that would begin to reverse the hypocrisy of a government that contributes to global violence in major ways and then claims to support democracy and humanitarian causes. The state dep. isn't going to admit that the military-industrial complex has little interest in humanitarianism.
