Look, this country was started by revolutionaries. You don't think that the founding father's would have wanted us to question, to use our minds, to explore different ways of structuring our society? They were very wary of the landed aristocracy, the military, corporations (East India Trading Company, religion, etc. I think that it is supremely American to question and to be open to points of view from all over the world. That's why I'm proud to be a progressive American.

Back when progressives were sending German and Japanese Americans to internment camps in violation of the Bill of Rights, they were also developing Social Security and seizing massive amounts of land in violation of Article one Section eight of the Constitution. Conservatives fought us every step of the way and now Social Security and the Great Scociety has bankrupted the US.
