@bkfinestbrownsville babies are in water the entire time they are in the mothers stomach. They breath through the umbilical cord until it is cut. Educate yourself before making a dumb comment

@tardismole I know babies grow in the womb, in the placenta, which is attached to the uterine wall, inside of the abdomen. When I said stomach I didn't mean literally in the stomach. I've gone through natural childbirth myself. Most people refer to their abdomen as their stomach. I wasn't disrespecting anyone, but thank you for the smart ass comment. I am sorry I didn't get all technical when describing the womb. I wasn't disrespecting anyone, so just relax.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby. Beautiful birth. By the way, babies don't need to cry at birth to be fine. Also, a newborn's skin is hypersensitive. You should not tap, slap or smack a newborn. Simply flick a finger against the soles of baby's feet if you feel their response is not as you would expect, just to make sure they are breathing.

@JennasFamilyLife Dumb comment yes. But you should look at what you've written before you disrespect others. Babies don't come from the stomach. They grow in the womb.

OMG she is so cute

The purpose of the water is to make the baby feel like it's still inside of them mom for a little bit longer. It's also easier to clean them off if your already in water. lol I'm 15 and I knew that.

Why do some women choose to have water birth and others don't? Whats the purpose of the water? Awesome vid!!

Why'd it take so long to pull it up out of the water? Anyway, I hope my children's births are that quick.
This is all the footage we have - it was the whole thing! My husband called the midwife after the first contraction. We chose her because she only lived 5 minutes away. The whole thing only took 10 minutes, but we knew it would be fast because of our prior births. This is our 6th child and God keeps letting the labor get shorter and shorter. Our first was born in 4 hours. Our second was born on the kitchen floor! Too bad there's not video of that!
