Steampunk (or maybe Cyberpunk) Costume Test

This is a steampunk (or maybe cyberpunk - see the comments ;0) costume I created for a music video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRE_IKsgcWA

The piece was displayed in The Greatest Steampunk Exhibition in Kew Steam Museum London.


The mask includes a skull cap. The idea is that this is either an electro shock skull cap or maybe from an electric chair. The cables dangling down are intended to be from equipment that the skull cap was previously attached to and has since been wrenched free of. Perhaps it's occupant escaped his treatment or death sentence.




The idea is that the character has been disfigured by the electro shock therapy/execution attempt he's received and that's why he's wearing the mask.

Sorry, not steampunk. Steampunk rarely deals with rubber tubing or electrical discharge. Too new.

For the record I'm aware perhaps it's not 100% steampunk but a 17th century mask isn't exactly 'cyber' now is it? This is a deliberate mishmash of styles.

It rarely does, but cyberpunk rarely deals with venetian masks and brass elements(the lights). To me it's a hybrid. Cyberpunk gone steampunk. Steampunk costume ball in cyberpunk universe?
