Maybe we're just realists. Maybe instead of talking about how the world should be, we're the ones actually looking to see how it actually is and, then, what we can do to fix it. Maybe we'd rather pay for education and social welfare programs up front, rather than prisons and policemen later. Maybe we're the ones who have paid attention to History and Literature when they've tried to tell us that greed and arrogance are always, always the beginning of the downfall.

Are you kidding? If he were a Republican, we'd hear that he'd "accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour," that he is "a changed man" and that "we all make mistakes." Essentially, we'd hear the same things we hear every time a Republican turns out to be alcoholic, drug-addicted or criminal.
