  • If you do find a baby bird: 1. Usually the mother IS around somewhere......2. If you DO rescue a baby bird, A. First check yellow pages/google for a bird rescue place. 3. If you try to save a baby bird, buy baby bird formula at a pet shop with eye dropper/syrenge and feed them as directed. (Usually about every 3-4 hours. Birds sleep through the night). A bird rescue place is preferred because they baby bird needs other birds to learn to gather food....and be a bird.

  • @CaptainPrivate These weren't abandoned. The mother raised them and they all lived on my porch until they grew up and flew away one day.

  • I've got a mourning dove family on my back porch, too. The eggs hatched this morning (15 days for one, 14 for the other since they were laid a day apart). Sooo tiny! How long were they around before they learned to fly and left the nest? Have there been more families there since?

  • @astinney just the one family. I don't recall the timing. I should have date stamped the photos.

  • I liked the pictures. But the music was very sad. Made me sad. =(

  • @ToffeeChips19 Yes. I have that effect on people.

  • What a beautiful video. This are with one of my favor birds. I Love how they sound. Thanks for sharing this video ! ;o)

  • too long.

  • I don't like morning doves that much because they chase away the cardinal, even the squirrel, and they eat until the seeds are practically gone, ...but watching this video photo composition of the mother with the chicks, and those black eyes! and the music makes me love them.

  • those babies are big now with their mates and have their eggs

  • @godsentangel1 well i took the baby and taught it all it needs and it fly and comes back everyday and comes to play with me winter i will put it back in its cage and let it go when summer comes around again

  • @94navin NOOO! would you like being taken from your parents?!?!?! plus it needs it's mother to learn bir things from! Let nature do what nature does.

  • @CaptainPrivate . mine are on a airconditioner. this is the third year. they do the laying now and in sept here. the mom is leaving them alone for hours at night.. they do grow fast. and i can't ell which is the babies after they flew off. last time it seemed the mom abandoned them so they would attempt flying off on their own? it is tearfull to see them gone. :(. cherie. wi.

  • @chrisaortiz Thanks. It was a neat experience.

  • We experienced a few years back

    how adaptable mourning doves are

with humans. We were able to capture

via webcam and camera the building of the nest,

the birth of their squabs and the final flight into adulthood.

A priceless experience for us also!
