You can't change a man but you *can* change a green smoothie. The first one I ever made was horrendous ... now I feel like I'm drinking an ice cream shake ... seriously! These are my tips. (Scott Brandon Hoffman come get me! ;)

I now love green smoothies, not because I'm a changed woman (becoming happy with gagging down a miserable mess in a cup) but because my smoothie is a changed smoothie.

  • Love you Sallie! :) Your info is *perfect* and I'm really looking forward to finding the chia seeds you mentioned. I didn't realize they were flavorless... I love discovering new things, don't you? So happy to hear all of your suggestions ... Go, Sallie, Go! :) So happy to see you here by the way ... two escaped BLC'ers lol! xoxo

  • Great tips! We just got our healthmaster last week and have tried many different recipes...some were bettter than others but its part of the learning curve.

  • She looks like she's really good in bed.

  • BTW if you haven't figured it out...it's me..Sallie!

  • Hey col...had to do that in sections...read from the bottom up! ;-))

  • I am not such a raw food purist so I also use organic rice milk as my base instead of water. I've never frozen my bananas but sometimes I do throw in some frozen strawberries, raspberries or blueberries. For a real kick I add a few raw chocolate beans....yep...I LOVE my green smoothies and always start my day with one and often end the day with one too.

    Love you, Col

  • the indians used to chew 1 tsp chia while running from arizona to calif and thus didn't need to eat or drink for long spells because chia helps preserve water in your body as well. I also put in a tbls of almond butter, banana, sometimes orange or tangerine juice, a dab of umeboshi paste which is very alkaline and of course leafy greens of some sort...spinach is also my favorite.

  • Here's something I love to add to my smoothie...chia seeds..they are a powerhouse of nutrition..Omega3 & 6, protein, vitamin & minerals...and..and..and..and they are absolutely neutral in taste. Soak 2 Tbs chia in a cup of water and this makes a cup of gel (which you can keep up to 2 wks in the fridge..but I guarantee you they wont be around that long!). Add 1-2 Tbs gel to your smoothie..this will help to burn the carbs at a slow rate which will keep your blood sugar level up for a long time...

  • Hi Col...I love my green smoothies too...I'll tell ya why the protein powder is controversial though..it ain't raw! And green smoothies were born and raised in the raw foods community...to b continued...
